10" x 7.5". A 16 page printed typewriter-face report (including 7 pages of graphs and diagrams) on the "Ring Process" - an invention by German engineers primarily for use in airplane engines to overcome spark-plug fouling and ignition difficulties at high altitude. Ignition was obtained not by means of spark plugs but by self-ignition of liquid ether injected finely atomized into the combustion chamber at the time of the compression stroke.
Experiments in the process were conducted by the Baierische Motoren Werke (BMW) of Munich in 1942-43 using a tri-engined Junker JU-52.

In very good condition, as issued, in original slightly browned wrappers, faint library stamp on cover. Protected in an archival clear plastic sleeve.
Following the Normandy landings in 1944, combined American and British intelligence units (CIOS) working under SHAEF (Supreme Headquarters Allied European Forces) produced a series of surveys and reports on captured German industry and armament
production as allied troops advanced across occupied Europe.
Printed in small numbers for a restricted circulation, this military intelligence report, containing material unpublished elsewhere, seldom comes onto the market.
