9" x 6". 245 pages. Illustrated throughout, much in colour, notably showing large ranges of household fireplaces, grates, cookers and stoves. There is a particularly nice section on door furniture - bakelite, chrome and brass sash and door handles, locks, bolts, casement stays and the like.

In immaculate internal condition in almost unmarked original green cloth, black lettered. Protected in a modern handmade archival cloth slipcase, leather label titled in gilt.

The Iron & Marble Company ("The House of the Grate", Builders' and Plumbers' Merchants) were based at 33, 35 and 51 Victoria Street, Bristol. Their elegant arcaded Victorian premises at the intersection of Victoria Street and St. Thomas Street were
demolished in 1974.

A copy of a later wartime [1940] catalogue from the Iron & Marble Company is held in the National Art Library of the Victoria & Albert Museum. No other catalogue from this company is listed by COPAC as being held either by the British Library, by the
National Library of Scotland, by the National Library of Wales, or by any other of Britain's major university, academic or research libraries.
