8 inches x 6 inches, 20 cms x 15 cms. 30 pages of text followed by 40 engraved sepia-printed views of Edinburgh, mostly full-page.

In nice, virtually unmarked, condition, original wrappers bound in an early quarter cloth binding, marbled boards (corners a touch rubbed), by Edmond & Clark, Bookbinders of Aberdeen. Bookplate of Alexander M. Munro (historian and author).



The 40 views, each with its own descriptive text, show Edinburgh as it was during, mainly, the 1700s. Each view is printed one side only (i.e. blank on the reverse) on thick paper.
